A college built so you never need tuition.

Whales College began as Wahaj Hussain's, an institute for Cambridge students and aptitude test preparation in Karachi. It grew into a full A Level college with one clear belief: if a college teaches well, students should not have to buy their grades in the evening.

Vision

To become a benchmark in the field of education for students seeking complete career solutions.

Mission

To give every A Level student top grades, a clear career direction and a strong personality, inside one college and one fee, so their evenings stay free for life outside the classroom.

What we hold ourselves to

Three values written into how every teacher, counsellor and manager at Whales works with students.

Integrity

Our words and actions in solving students' problems come before anything else. If we promise no tuition, we make sure no student needs it.

Dedication

Turning a student into an able one takes sustained effort from us. Teachers stay with students from the first lesson right up to the Cambridge exams.

Commitment

We are committed to our profession in letter and spirit. Our success is measured only by our students' success.

Single fee. Double advantage.

Across Karachi, tuition has become a "necessary evil". Students lose their evenings, parents pay twice, and colleges quietly take credit for results earned in coaching centres.

Whales was designed to break that cycle. We studied why students turn to tuition and fixed each reason inside the college:

  • Specialist teachers for every subject, under one roof.
  • Double classes, processed notes and full past paper practice, the things tuition centres sell.
  • Formal tutorial sessions through the week and extra help for any student who needs it.
  • Free workshops close to the Cambridge exams, with every teacher available until the last paper.
  • Special care for under performing students, so nobody is left to "find a tutor".

If a student still feels they need more help in a subject, Whales is responsible for providing it. That is our No Tuition Policy.

A Whales College teacher with students

Our philosophy

Grades open doors. Character decides what you do once you walk through them.

A cohesive framework

We give students and teachers one well planned academic system and a calm place to work, so energy goes into learning rather than logistics.

Responsible citizens

We groom students beyond academics so they create a positive multiplier effect in their work, their families and their communities.

Stakeholders first

Students, teachers, staff and parents come first. Our second duty is to make a positive impact on society, through charity drives and community work led by students.

Whales College student leaders at a college event

Leaders are made at sixteen

The average Whales student is sixteen, the most formative age there is. We use it to build leadership on purpose.

  • A student government with a council, an executive committee and standing committees that share real decisions with management.
  • Elected Head Boy, Head Girl and deputies who run events, discipline and charity projects.
  • Inter section and inter school competitions in co curricular and extra curricular activities.
  • Motivational speakers on campus and teams sent to leadership conferences at leading business schools.
